Regarding ‘ The Wind Doesn’t Blow This Far Right ‘
Natural disasters devastate and turn our world upside down, BUT it is the man-made greed-motivated unnatural disasters put upon this beautiful planet and it’s people which inspired this song. I hope the title track of this collection pulls these six pieces together in a cohesive journey for the listener. I am proud of this EP and feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with the people who gave so much of themselves to it.
Hearing the test pressings on vinyl, to my surprise the tracks came alive again in a new way. A subtle difference but meaningful, not only sonically but as a collection that makes sense. It left me pondering, is this a short album or a long EP? I decided it doesn’t matter, it’s found it’s home on vinyl.

An exclusive event for the Dún Laoghaire Folk Fest following a recent Foggy Notions Artist Residency at the Pavilion Theatre. Acclaimed songwriter Lisa O’Neill and brilliant emerging writer Ingrid Lyons, will bring the worlds of music and literature together through a wildly imaginative and exploratory storyboard. Lisa is currently working on her fifth album due for release on the Rough Trade label. Ingrid Lyons is a fiction and arts writer who has contributed to some of Ireland’s leading art publications and written contextual essays for numerous art galleries and institutions. Ingrid is currently working on a collection of short stories.
Peggy Gordon
Lisa, along with Colm Mac Con Iomaire, has a new tune out on Ergodos Records. It’s the first single from an upcoming compilation called In The Echo: Field Recordings from Earls Fort Terrace that is due out 30 September. Goodnight World
Last weekend Lisa performed an unreleased song ‘Goodnight World’ that she wrote for the play ‘The Boy Who Talked To Dogs’ which just finished a run at the Adelaide Festival in Australia. Unfortunately due to all the restrictions she couldn’t travel there to be a part of the team presenting the theatre piece, but she was delighted to play it in on the Tommy Tiernan show.
